Remote Learning

A Message from Principal Gary Henricksen

FROM GARY HENRICKSEN, PRINCIPAL

ANNOUNCEMENT
In compliance with federal, state, and local authorities, St. John’s Lutheran School on-campus learning will not resume until at least May 4, 2020. Teachers will begin lessons through a remote learning community off-site as of Monday, April 6, 2020. The reopening of on-campus learning will be assessed and announced sometime during the week of April 26.

THE FACULTY is working hard to continue to provide quality learning experiences at home as well as implementing a systematic plan of curriculum implementation for each grade level. Your student’s teacher(s) will be in touch to inform you about attendance, curriculum requirements, and assessment practices.

CANCELLATIONS
As a result of campus closure, the following events have been cancelled:
· Color Fun Run – April 14 (possibly to be rescheduled)
· Athletics Car Show – April 18 CANCELLED

ENCOURAGEMENT
Psalms 73:23-26 Nevertheless, I am continually with you; you hold my right
hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will
receive me to glory. Whom have I in heaven but you? And
there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

Dear friends in Christ, these are difficult times. I am getting communication from parents who are faced with so many challenges. Yet, our Lord is continually with us as Psalm 73 says above. Not only that – but as parents need guidance and counsel, He assures us of giving us that too! We will see Him in glory which must always be our focus. It is my prayer that the Lord will be your strength through all.

Please email me or call me with any needs. I am checking both daily.

Our staff is praying for YOU.

2 Peter 3:18 Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus

Christ.

Ephesians 2:10 We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works.

Welcome to St. John's Lutheran Elementary School. We are a grace place. St. John's is a perfect place for imperfect people. We are a growing place. The two verses above, from the Bible, tells you what we are about. This school builds students up in the love and strength of Christ. His Good News of salvation is shared vibrantly in every classroom, every day! We are an active place. School activities include student government, extra-curricular music and sports, school musicals, drama productions, student-run store, Spanish Club, and Summer Camp.

We are a family place. Parents are encouraged to help supervise at recess and lunch, occasionally give teacher support in the classroom, and participate during field trips. Family activities include banquets, plays, basketball tournaments, bingo nights and more. Families are always welcome at St. John's Lutheran Church events and worship. We are an excellent place. Faculty members are continually involved in professional growth and self-assessment of their teaching. We have a five-year school growth plan in place which includes a huge investment in the future of our elementary school and preschool.

Come and schedule a visit! Make St. John's your home.
