The Hispanic Mission

The Hispanic Mission Society of Circuits One and Two, PSD-LCMS

“…ustedes recibirán poder y serán mis testigos…hasta los confines de la tierra.” Hechos 1: 8

“…you will be my witnesses…to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1: 8

Pastor Marcelino now leads pastoral ministry of Centro Cristiano Redwood, Oxnard and continues shepherding Centro Cristiano Emanuel, Santa Paula. As the construction work in Santiago Naranjas (SN), Oaxaca advances, Lay Missionary Pastor Javier Velasco prepares to

dedicate all his efforts to the mission work in his village. The mission work will require

more time in SN, so Pastor Marcelino will meet the need in Oxnard. The transition proceeds well as the congregations of CCR and CCESP, work together in ministry and mission at home and on the mission field. Through the pandemic, the LORD has enlivened us by His Spirit through online worship, prayer services, Bible studies, and fellowship. ¡Su pueblo de Dios ahora se levanta en

amor! (Isaias 60: 1)

Hispanic Leaders organize within the Pacific Southwest District Through the vision of PSD President Pastor Mike Gibson, Mission Director Pastor Dominic Rivkin, Pastor Carlos Velazquez of Iglesia San Pablo, Orange, and others, Hispanic congregations are organizing for mutual support and mission. Centro Cristiano Hispano has been privileged to participate in this important work. In our last Zoom meeting, thirteen representatives from various Hispanic ministries, congregations and missions joined together to share our language, culture, strengths, and concerns. Some of the goals will be to support Hispanic workers, missions, and ministries in a linguistically and culturally relevant way, with mutual respect, intentional commitment to reach people with the Gospel, maintain a clear mission focus, and celebrate regularly our “unidad en Jesucristo”. (…unity in Jesus Christ)

Members of Centro Cristiano Emanuel Santa Paula prepare for July 11-17 mission to Oaxaca

Pastor Marcelino Velasco will lead a mission team to SN this summer. Nine mission team members are meeting in pre-field orientation to prepare for concerted mission work. Pray for our missionaries as they ready outreaches, benevolent resources, children’s (VBS) and senior’s ministries. The Nueva Vida facilities are being readied for the team. Even through the pandemic, our missionaries have been sharing the Good News of Jesus’ New Life through online

communication and continued work on the building. THANK YOU FOR

YOUR GENEROUS MISSION CONTRIBUTIONS! Your gifts are used to

further the proclamation of Jesus’ Gospel and to meet the needs of people

in great need in many areas of their lives. ¡MUCHÍSIMAS GRACIAS!
