Handbells

Over the years St. John's has involved many adults and children in the ministry of handbell playing. Handbells comprise ONE percussion instrument played by SEVERAL people.The largest bells take strong arm and wrist muscles for effective play while the smallest bells can be played two in hand. Each player is assigned three or more specific bells which are crucially placed for easy pickup and execution.

Currently, we have played with an ensemble of six players. We hope to expand that group this coming Spring to 11 players. No music experience is necessary to participate in this fun and exciting experience. Rehearsals are designed for COVID19 safety with social-distance play and the use of face masks.
